Photodiode design and characterization
Device models, test plans and characterization reports for photodiodes, with every figure computed in code.
I write product documentation and build calculators from your datasheets, test data and drawings. Each proposal sets out the scope, price and delivery date.
Projects can start with your existing content: adding test conditions to a datasheet, turning a calculation into a browser tool, or writing selection criteria for a product family.

Device models, test plans and characterization reports for photodiodes, with every figure computed in code.
EUV filter and Mo/Si multilayer mirror design, DUV coatings at 193 nm and 248 nm, and the datasheets that go with them. Every EUV spectrum is calculated from CXRO data.
Try the live filter calculator on the page.
Models, drawings and library files built from your released drawings for customers to use in their assemblies. I also design photodiode front ends and readout electronics, from SPICE simulation to KiCad schematic and board layout.
Request individual models and drawings, or a set of files for a product family.
A design question explained through a worked example, with calculations your engineers can check.
Available as a technical article, App Note Sprint or white paper.
Product specifications, test conditions and selection criteria for engineers evaluating your parts.
Available as a datasheet refresh, product-page rewrite or selection guide. Selection guides can also be included in the Design-In Kit.
Technical answers and product information your reps can send to customers.
Capability cards can be commissioned individually. The Design-In Kit includes a FAQ and one-pager.
A report on one dataset, with a template your team can use for the next batch.
Booth graphics, banners, brochures, catalogs and booklets. I write and check the technical content, and Pento Agency does the design.
You work with me from the brief to the print-ready files.
Browser tools that let engineers calculate results for their own inputs.
One calculator is part of the Design-In Kit. Standalone tools are quoted.
One application note with a worked example, figures and supporting calculations.
Datasheet, product page, article, three posts and launch email copy.
Application note, selection guide, calculator, sales one-pager and technical FAQ.
Ongoing documents or tools, plus written technical Q&A for your sales team. The proposal sets the monthly scope.
Deliverables:
How to buy: Request a quote with a description of the dataset and the report you need.
Calculation templates: an Excel or Python template for one calculation your team repeats, with input checks and test cases. MATLAB scripts with test vectors on request.
Your data stays under a written data-handling agreement, and I never take export-controlled data. This is a report and a template, not an ongoing data-processing service.
Line chart. Temperature (°C) from 0 to 60. Resistance: 33.1 to 2.5 (Resistance (kΩ)).
| T (°C) | R (kΩ) | α (%/K) |
|---|---|---|
| 0 | 33.108 | −5.23 |
| 1 | 31.428 | −5.19 |
| 2 | 29.845 | −5.15 |
| 3 | 28.352 | −5.11 |
Fixed scope, price and date, agreed before work starts.
Review rounds. One technical review and one final review of revisions on packages; one review round on smaller projects.
Your sign-off first. Nothing ships without your engineers’ technical approval.
File ownership and usage rights are set out in the proposal.
NDA on request. Confidentiality runs both ways in every contract.
Public-release information only. At kickoff I ask how your products are classified.
Figures are generated from your data. Models, drawings and libraries are built from your released drawings. Circuits are simulated in SPICE and MATLAB before the KiCad schematic and layout.
I deliver PDF, Word, Excel, STEP and DXF files, KiCad libraries, and KiCad schematics and board files.
Optics, filters and coatings; lasers, laser drivers and TEC controllers; fiber components; electro-optic and acousto-optic devices; photonic integrated circuits; light sources; optomechanics and motion; and the optics and system design of spectroscopy, imaging and metrology instruments. The same work suits precision components in test and measurement, scientific instruments, motion and industrial automation. Every proposal states the scope in full.
For photodiode front ends and readout electronics, yes: I design and simulate the circuit and lay out the board in KiCad, and your engineers review it. Otherwise I document, explain and model the parts you’ve already designed, released and tested, from your data and drawings. Your engineers own the design and sign off every number.
No. Every project has a fixed scope, price and date, agreed before work starts. Retainers include a set number of written Q&A hours.
Yes. I work from your datasheets, test data, drawings and the questions your sales team hears.
No. I write the copy, spec tables and FAQ for your product pages and give your web person implementation notes.

The free review recommends three documents or tools for your site, with a price for the first project.
